Thursday, July 29, 2021: We are one day away from one of the most talked about fights this year.

I’m going for Prajanchai’s (The MuayThai Matador) amazing ability to continuous ability to disrupt and set up his intelligent attacks — to overcome the aging prowess of SamA.

But, let’s not count out the 37-year old MuayThai encyclopedia, Sam-A…he will have the experience of fighting in a cage, fighting in the small gloves, and fighting in an empty arena in Singapore — if any of that matters, let’s see.

Prajanchai is undoubtedly the #1 super-bantamweight on the Thai elite stadium circuit and even up to 124 pounds, he can beat anyone, his last loss to a much bigger fighter, was in 2018, against Chalaam Parunchai, who at the time, was fighting at 126-128 pounds, cutting weight from 130-132 pounds.

Since 2017, Prajanchai has beaten all of the top talents in his weight, here in Thailand, as soon as he lost to Kompetch last year at World Siam Stadium, they asked for the immediate match — they got it — and he avenged the loss in style at Lumpinee Stadium, 7 weeks later.

For Sam-A, let’s consider that he stopped fighting on the elite Thai stadium circuit in 2015, the two losses in a row to Panpayak Jitmuangnon was the beginning of the end of a glittering stadium career. He had a few more fights under the banner Petchyindee promotional banner, for the rest of 2015, and eventually moved to work as a trainer at Evolve, in Singapore, with the blessing of Mr. Virat, Boat, and Siatang.

He then took an almost two-year break before signing to fight for One.

I don’t believe anyone saw the renaissance coming…like Nong-O, the break and change of scenery reinvigorated them, and of course, the healthy paychecks from One and Evolve which has helped him set up his family here in Thailand with a lovely house and business.

Sam-A on One Championship has been a breath of fresh air to watch, even the loss to Haggerty, he still brought Muay pleasure to those watching.

Enough talking — who will win the battle of the IQ’s❓

We will find out on Friday night’s ONE Championship show in Singapore.
