Thursday, January 9, 2020: The World Boxing Council MuayThai, in association with the Royal Thai Army, and the Sports Authority of Thailand, yesterday announed the first set of scintillating matchups for their March 15th event at Lumpinee stadium, under the banner of "WBC WORLD SOLDIER" as the event is hosted by the Royal Thai Army and five of the Thai fighters are active serving soldiers in the Thai Army.

The planned promotion at the Mecca of elite MuayThai will compliment the there-day gathering, in the capital of MuayThai, of the inaugural WBC MuayThai world convention. To celebrate this auspicious occasion, the World Boxing Council has put together a sensational fight card.

There is no designated main event for the show as each and everyone of the planned showdowns could headline any elite stadium show, on any given day.

Belgian/Moroccan fighter, Youssef Boughanem, the current WBC MuayThai middleweight world champion will defend his coveted world championship against Thailand's Sograw Petchyindee, the current middleweight champion of Lumpinee stadium. Champion versus champion at Bangkok's elite stadium. This has the makings of a fight to remember.

Sograw is fresh off winning the Lumpinee title, beating Frenchman, Jimmy Vienot. Youssef is coming off a magnificent WBC world title defense in Brussels, where he conquered Swedish combatant, Tobias Alexandersen.

In a clash of titans affair, Thailand's Satanfaa Rachanon, the current WBC MuayThai super-welterweight champion of the world, will defend his much sought after championship strap against his compatriot, Yodwicha For Boonsit. This matchup has caused quite the stir amongst the Thai MuayThai media as they are highly anticipating the return to the elite stadiums of the classy Yodwicha.

Satanfah is well rested going into this clash as his foray into the ring in Thailand, was his victory over Chadd Collins, where he became the WBC MuayThai 154 pound World champion. Yodwicha will be looking to make a big statement with his return to Bangkok's elite stadium.

In what can be viewed a major coup, former elite Bangkok stadium star, and International fighting superstar, Sittichai Sitsongpeenong, will make his eagerly awaited return to the domestic ring when he challenges Luis Cajaiba from Brazil, for Cajaiba's WBC MuayThai welterweight world title.

The welterweight King, Cajaiba, is coming off a narrow loss to French fighter, Thibaut Valentino, for the WBC MuayThai super-welterweight diamond title, the steppe in weight was just a bridge too far for the Brazilian star. Sittichai's return to fight in Thailand is the talk of the town this week as Thai fans and International MuayThai fans alike, are hot in anticipation for this showdown for the WBC MuayThai 147 pound world title.

In the first-ever WBC MuayThai Thailand championship title fight, fan favorite Kulabdam Sor-Jor Piekuthai will square off against Chamuaktong PK Saenchai. The inaugural World Boxing Council MuayThai Thailand title will await the winner of this mega matchup.

Kulabdam, a former super-lightweight champion of Lumpinee stadium going up against Chamuaktong, a former super-lightweight champion of Rajadamnern stadium, for the first-ever WBC Thailand 140 pound title, will most likely bring fireworks to the legendary ring of Lumpinee stadium.

In another historic moment for the event, Thailand's Apichet Petchmanee, the current WBC Asia boxing lightweight champion, will defend his regional WBC strap against a yet confirmed opponent from China. This will be the first-time that a professional western boxing championship will take place at the new Lumpinee stadium.

Apichet is fresh off making his first defense of his title, when he outgunned a formidable Ari Agustian from Indonesia, back in December of last year.

Last but not least, Rachanon gym elite fighter, Thananchai Rachanon, will contest with a yet unconfirmed opponent for the vacant WBC MuayThai super-welterweight International title. Thananchai last fought at Lumpinee stadium back in September of last year when he demolished China's Lui Jie in devastating fashion, via a 2nd round TKO victory.

The WBC World Soldier event takes place at Bangkok's Lumpinee stadium on Sunday the 15th of March. The show will start at 6:30pm. Tickets for the promotion will be available at the door, on the night of the event.
