Recap: Another Sublime Day At Channel7 Stadium
Sunday, May 20th: Bangkok’s iconic Channel7 stadium is quite the mesmerizing place to witness high-end MuayThai fights, week in, week out! Today was no different as the entire 4-fights thrilled those in attendance when 8 warriors showcased the wondrous science of eight limbs to those in attendance and for the millions watching on TV across the kingdom of Thailand.
First up was Terdkiat Sor-Sor Pakon taking on Thongchai Por Jaroenpet in Group (A) of the 2018 Tiger cement tournament. The winner of this contest would join Fahpratan as the two fighters group A to sail into the final eight of the tournament. Terdkiat’s impressive work-rate sealed the deal today, beating Thongchai via a points decision — and in doing so he sent the Por Jaoenpet fighter crashing out of the yearly event.
The second fight of today’s show was the climatic contest of group (B) in the tournament. The fight pitted Alien Phetkasem against Panpersen Kiatfufuang for the final coveted spot from this group to join group winner Tanachart Sor Jullasen in the final eight. Panperson took the victory on points by following the well executed game plan by his corner team.
The prelude to the main event saw Yodpayak Por Jaroenpet take on Tapaokaew Singmawin in what was a truly sensational fight between these two young modern day warriors — the pulsating contest ended in a much deserved draw — both fighters showcased tremendous defensive IQ and brave-heart attitudes.
The showpiece bout for today’s show was hotly anticipated all week long as Nawapon Lukprachrist was set to take on Sakchainoi MUDEN. The contest was a case of agony for one, and ecstasy for the other, as Nawapon sent Sakchainoi into the the shadow realms with a brutal 4th round destruction cumulating in a referee’s stoppage after two eight-counts and then a final kick to the face ending the contest.
