Thursday, April 26th: The dust has barely settled after the mesmerizing Kunlun 72 event in balmy Beijing and it’s already time to turn our attention to sunnier climates in southern China, where we will return to the beautiful island of Hainan and to the delightful city of Sanya for the next stage of qualifying for the 2018 ‘Clash of Titans’ 70kg tournament.
The day and date for this marvelous mayhem to take place is Sunday the 6th of May.
Eight Chinese combatants will duke it out for the right to join the six international stars who have already qualified for the final 16 — this is a one night qualifier where only one man will be left standing and proceed into the ‘Sweet 16.’
THE Qualifying PROTAGONISTS:
First up we have Lu Hainan 🇨🇳 taking on Tian Xin 🇨🇳 in the nights opening quarterfinal to decide who progresses to fight the winner of quarterfinal (B).
Lu Xiaohan 🇨🇳 faces off against Zu Baotong 🇨🇳 in quarterfinal number 2 for the evening’s events and the victorious combatant will square off against the winner of quarterfinal (A).
Song Shaoqiu 🇨🇳 will got to war with Yiliyasi 🇨🇳 in the penultimate quarterfinal - the winner will meet the winner of quarterfinal (D).
Feng Xingli 🇨🇳 clashes with Hu Yafei 🇨🇳 for the nights last quarterfinal to determine who will face off against the winner of quarterfinal (C).
The winner of 1/4 final (A) faces off against the winner of 1/4 final (B).
The winner of 1/4 final (C) faces of against the winner of 1/4 final (D).
The winner of semifinal (A) will clash with the winner of semifinal (B) to decide who moves into the final 16 of the 2018 ‘Clash of Titans’ tournament.
Japanese 🇯🇵 warrior Ban Yungsong will clash with Chinese 🇨🇳 combatant Sun Zhixiang in a match-up set at 64kgs.
In the only female contest of the evening Belgian 🇧🇪 fighter Anke Van Gestel will collide with Moroccan 🇲🇦 powerhouse
The nights stand-alone MMA contest sees Russian 🇷🇺 warrior Alexander Belikh take on China’s 🇨🇳 Asihati in the lightweight division.
Japan’s 🇯🇵 Kenta Yamada will go to war with China’s 🇨🇳 Wei Ninghui in a bout set at 66kgs.
Slovakian 🇸🇰 combatant Miran Fabjan will clash with Chinese 🇨🇳 warrior Wang Wenzhong in a of the ‘Big Boys’ set at 90kgs.
Iranian 🇮🇷 fighter Mohammad Ghorbanpour will clash with China’s 🇨🇳 Tan Xiaofeng at 80kgs.
The Tournament Reserve Contest:
Liu Jixin🇨🇳 will square off against his compatriot
Bubigere 🇨🇳 in a reserve contest for the 70kg qualifying event.
