Muay matadors: The fight team boys are raring to go
November will be a busy, busy month for the sport of MuayThai here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
Due to the cancellation of most fights for the entirety of October there will be a glut of fighters waiting patiently to get back into the squared circle.
MXMuayXtreme have finalized their line-ups for the first four shows of next month — six Sitsongpeenong Phuket boxers are matched for super fights and one, Salim, will start his journey in the 67kg MX Champion eight man tournament.
Let’s start with that man, Salimkhan Ibragimov, the tall rangey Russian who made his MX debut back in September; and what a tremendous debut it was, too!
He scored a monstrous KO victory via a well timed spinning back fist sending his Thai opponent crashing to the canvas.
21 year old Salim will look to make another big statement when he steps into the cauldron that is the 67kg Mx tournament, where he will face off against formidable Noppakit Gor Kampanart.
Next up on the same night is one of the newest members to the Sitsongpeenong fight team, a
young man who will be making his MX debut against Thailand’s Phakao Dabpong 191.
‘Sugar’ Shane McConnell hails from Ireland and will be hoping to bring the luck of the Irish into the MX ring.
Shane joined the Sitsongpeenong Phuket fight team after winning a free week’s stay at the gym.
He obtained that free week after scoring the ‘fight of the night’ award on a Dublin based fight show that was partially sponsored by Sitsongpeenong.
Poland’s Patryk Beszta returns to action at MX on Friday the 17th of November looking to get back to winning ways after a gut wrenching loss on the most recent Top King World Series show.
That defeat was a bitter pill to swallow as Patryk had the fight in his grasp, but according to two of the ringside judges he didn’t do enough to swing the victory his way.
Never mind - you live and learn in this sport and it’s onwards and upwards for Patryk as he steps back into the ring at MX.
Norwegian boxer Markus Kalberg will make his MX debut on the same night. Markus is fresh off a hard fought points victory in Phuket — and will be looking forward to fighting on the big stage up in the city of Angels.
Lithuanian powerhouse Deividas Danyla, a man who knows no fear when he steps in the ring is next up for the Sitsongpeenong Phuket fight team when he fights on Friday the 24th of November.
Deividas is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Scotland’s Andrew Miller in the semi-final of the MX Champion 65kg tournament and will be looking to return to winning ways.
Also fighting on the same night as Deividas at MX is Moroccan fighter Omar Hilali.
Sitsongpeenong Phuket has one of the most active international fighter fight teams here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
The boys are trained under the watchful eyes of former multimtime Lumpinee stadium champions.
