AllStarFight II: Buakaw reigns supreme

October 1, 2017

Last night saw AllStarFight promotions put on their second event. The location for the event was once again at the majestic WorkPoint TV stadium.

The venue, the production and the fights were immensely impressive — and the hugely successful night was rounded off with a ruthless performance of ring guile and cunningness by the master, aka Buakaw Banchamek.

Buakaw’s opponent was the highly touted Ukrainian, Sergei Kuliaba, a veteran of over 100 fights. Kuliaba was coming off a big victory over Belorussian Star, Andrei Kulebin., a victory which took place on last month’s Kunlun show.

The opening stanza of the fight saw the Banchamek star lure Sergei into the middle of the ring for the near entirety of the round, picking his shots at will, with a supreme sense of methodical precision.

The second round saw MuayThai’s number one global superstar put on an elbow clinic landing a multitude of beautiful elbows on the head and face of his opponent, most notably a thunderous spinning elbow and another graceful blow later in the round which duly sent the Ukrainian to the canvas for a referee's eight count.

Luckily for Sergei, by the time the referee had finished his eight count the bell rang, signifying the end of round two. He went back to his corner with two freshly squeezed bloody war wounds to his nose, compliment of those elbows from Buakaw.

The third and final round saw Kuliaba clearly needing a knock-out to to win the fight, every man, woman and child in the arena knew that.

Buakaw could easily have been forgiven for taking his food of the proverbial gas, but true to his nature — he didn't, and instead rained more punishment down on the heart and soul of Sergei. The steely Ukrainian survived the constant onslaught and after the final bell rang, Buakaw’s hand was raised in magnificent victory.

Ringside commentators for Fox Sports, Mr. John Nutt and Mr. Kevin Noone were equally impressed by the ring prowess displayed by the thrifty five year Buakaw, with both stating that the decorated veteran of over 300 fights put on a tremendous exhibition of exhilarating MuayThai skills.
