The Sports Authority of Thailand have announced their final 8 nominees for the 2016 MuayThai fighter
The list of eight MuayThai stars includes two former winners of this accolade with Sangmanee and Superlek amongst this years nominees
The 1st nominee is the current Sports writers fighter of the year, Panpayak from Jitmuangnon gym. Panpayak is the current Lumpinee stadium champion at 126lbs.
The 2nd nominee if the current King of Elbow K.O's, MuangThai from PK Saenchai gym. MuangThai is currently ranked no.2 at Lumpinee stadium in the 130lb division.
The 3rd nominee is last years winner, Sangmanee AumkatongChiangmai, who has recently had his contract bought by a wealthy benefactor from Northern Thailand. Sangmanee has won this award twice now - can it be third time lucky?
The 4th nominee is Sor Sommai gym star, PetUTong, who has had a stellar year and will fight for the Rajadamnern stadium 130lb title on the 22nd of December.
The 5th nominee is the current Rajadamnern stadium 115lb champion, Pernkun Tor Surath, who trains and lives down in Rayong province.
The 6th nominee is Poptheratham gym superstar, Tanonchai, who has recently returned to train at Poptheratham full-time as he spent the first half of 2016 fighting out of an army camp as part of his military service.
The 7th nominee is the Buriram destroyer, aka, Superlek from Kiatmoo9 gym. Superlek is currently ranked no.1 at Lumpinee stadium in the 130lb division; and was also a previous winner of this prestigious award - back in 2012.
And last, but not least, the 8th nominee is one of the big boys, Manasak from Sor-Jor-LekJitmungnon gym.
The awards will be announced on Thursday the 15th of December at a ceremony which will be held at the Sports Authority of Thailand headquarters here in Bangkok.
