The last time these two fighters met, Pongsiri not only won the fight, but he was also crowned the champion of Lumpinee stadium at 147lbs.
That was four weeks ago; and he (Pongsiri) was the clear winner on that occasion via a points decision. That is no slight on Rafi, who put put up one hell of a fight, and cut Pongsiri bad during the fight, and on another day that cut could very well have been the end of the bout. But, at Lumpinee, the Mecca of MuayThai, fights don't normally stop for cuts; unless of course they are the worst of the worst!
This week, on Friday night the 7th of October these two will go at it once again, and this time, it will be the main event on the Kiatpetch promotion.
The fight is set at 142lbs, which is what Pongsiri weighed-in at for their first encounter, even though the fight weight for the that battle was 147lbs.
Can the Frenchman, Rafi, who trains out of Singpatong gym down on Phuket get the victory over Pongsiri, who now fights and trains out of PK Saenchai gym here in Bangkok.
