Saturday, July 3, 2021: Julio Lobo today made history in becoming the first Brazilian and only fighter from the Americas to capture an elite Omnoi Stadium championship strap.
The PhuketFightClub trained star rose to the occasion as he overcame a late opponent change, in the form of current Rajadmanern Stadium champion, Rambo PetPorTorOr. The feared Rambo stopped to replace Phonaek Or Kwanuang who became ill a few days before the scheduled championship showdown with Lobo.
New challenge. No problem for the adaptive Lobo and the team at PhuketFightClub, led by Lobo’s trainer, Leo Elias. The duo had just over 72-hours to install a game-plan to overcome the formidable Rambo.
The updated game plan was executed to perfection as Lobo dominated proceedings, took some punishment, weathered the storm and executed his own effective aggression to outgun Rambo.
All three judges scored the bout in favor of the new champion, 49-48, 49-47, 49-47. With that poetic sound of the scores being read aloud, Lobo had his hand raised in victory to become only the third-ever non-Thai elite stadium champion.
The rise of the team success at PhuketFightClub is no lucky matter, it has come from a perspective of good old-fashioned hard work, sweat and tears.
Congratulations to Kleiton and everyone at the gym for their continued success. The eyes on the MuayThai world are watching with great enthusiasm.
