The week of April 6-12 celebrates the career - so far - of one of the modern eras greatest champions and stars of the sport of MuayThai, Sangmanee Sor Tienpo, well formerly known as Sor Tienpo, but you get the drift.
One of the most skilled and decorated fighters of the modern era, 23-year old Sangmanee is a fan favorite on the elite stadium circuit and as a global MuayThai star. At the age of 15 he became the minimum-weight (105 Lbs) champion at Lumpinee stadium, defeating Petch Lukmakamwan.
A year later he moved up to light-flyweight (108 Lbs) where he became champion at this weight — at Rajadamnern stadium — after mastering Dekart Por Pongsawan.
He went on to claim the Rajadamnern flyweight (112 Lbs) title at the end of 2012, beating a heavily favored Prajanchai. The year 2013 witnessed Sangmanee claim the Rajadamnern super-flyweight (115 Lbs) championship title when he defeated Inseekao Rachanon.
On the opening night of the new Lumpinee stadium he took home the King Fighter 4-man tournament belt after beating Superlek Kiatmoo9 in the semi finals and Superbank Mor Ratanabandit in the final.
Incredibly, he won all five of his elite stadium titles over a span of 13-months. He is to this day one of the pound-for-pound kings on the elite stadium circuit earning between ฿250,000-฿400,000 a fight. He is currently training out of Bangkok’s Sathian gym, having formerly and most famously being trained at 13-Coins gym by his dad and Ajarn Sorn.
