Monday, June 11th: This last week has been quite the momentous week for Singapore based One Championship as they signed an ‘elite quartet’ of Thailand’s fighting superstars to their roster for the ‘One Super Series’ MuayThai and kickboxing fights.
Jitmuangnon duo Yodpanomrung and Rottang and Petchyindee gym pair Petchdam and Petchmorakot all put pen to paper to join the ranks of One Championship.
24-year-old Yodpanomrung Jitmuangnon is considered by Thai boxing pundits as one of the top pound-for-pound MuayThai practitioners in the world. Having 300 professional bouts under his belt, Yodpanomrung has built a reputation as being an explosive striker with stunning knockout power. He has won numerous championships throughout his career, including the WMC and WPMF World Championship titles.
Yodpanomrung Jitmuangnon stated: “I am happy to be part of the growing ONE Championship family. I would also like to thank everyone who made this possible. I can't wait to have my promotional debut and exhibit what I am capable of doing. The fans must not blink every time I am inside the ring or cage because I could finish the contest at any time.”
20-year-old Rottang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon is one of the most recognizable names in the world of MuayThai, capturing the Omnoi Stadium World Championship on two occasions. Known for his exciting Muay Mat style, which specializes in devastating strikes and always looks to charge forward to instantly inflict damage, Rottang has beaten some of Thailand’s biggest Muay Thai superstars. With a professional record of 250-40-10, Rottang makes his foray to ONE Championship.
Rottang Jitmuangnon stated: “I am honored to be part of this world-class martial arts organization. With ONE Championship opening its doors for other martial artists like me to join and showcase our talent on a global stage, it means a lot to me as an athlete. This is a new challenge, and I love challenges. I am looking forward to my debut in ONE Championship.”
Super-lightweight MuayThai combatant Petchmorakot, boasting a cabinet full of elite accolades from the highly competitive Bangkok fight circuit has signed on the dotted line in a bid to show fight fans across Asia and the world his dominant prowess as master of thunderous knee strikes to send a shiver down the spine of anyone brave enough to stand in front of him, be it in a ring or in a cage, as the case may be for the ‘One Super Series.’
Petchmorakot is a former multi-time champion of Bangkok’s Lumpinee stadium and a former two-time champion of Thailand.
His gym-mate Petchdam joins his close friend in joining Petchmorakot for what should swashbuckling fight adventures across Asia over the next couple of years.
Petchdam, the current WBC MuayThai featherweight championship of the world is also a former bantamweight champion of Lumpinee stadium and is currently one of the most popular combatants on Bangkok’s elite fight circuit.
