It was the summer of 2004 and Thailand's Manus Boonjumnong had just won the holy grail of amateur boxing in capturing a coveted Olympic gold medal.
Fast forward thirteen years and a very different physical specimen in a larger than life Manus is back in the spotlight, all be it - a toned down spotlight, and he is headlining the new weekly Friday night MuayThai concept to hit prime time TV screens in Thailand.
This is Manus's third fight on MXMuayXtreme and tonight he takes on opposition from Germany, in Erhan Gungor. Erhan has been training for this fight at the Yokkao gym in Bangkok. The fight is set at 80kgs.
The prelude to the main event sees Thailand's Petchboonchuay from FA Group gym take on Bulgarian fighter, Mario Todorov, in a bout set at 63kgs.
As always there are seven fights on the live TV show, with all fights seeing Thai fighters taking on Nakmuay's from across the globe.
Manachai MU Den takes on Malaysian fighter, Ahmad Syairawai at 59kgs.Petchmai Lookboonmee faces off against Kaziakstani boxer, Daulet Otarbaev, at 70kgs.
Pongpat Polchamni takes on KY Det from Cambodia at 50kgs.
Suadam from Khongsittha gym takes on South Korean fighter, Kim Dong Wan, at 64kgs.
Fahmongkol Liangpraset goes to war with Ziyodilla Kurbanov from Kazakhstan. This fight is at 67kgs.
